3D Prints from My Printers

Mensaje por New Crusader 7 » Sab 31 Ago, 2019 3:49 am

I thought I would post a photo of my current 3D prints. The PLA is called Stone,...but it is a very light blue. :? I will have to paint them, no doubt.
The printed parts fit loose with each other, but fit tight with Line Bros. So very good to know.
Well I hope this worked.

From the photo I see you have an Ender. I have access to an Ender 3 and I get sides less ondulated than yours. Maybe because of a low quality profile in the printing software?

Hello jasolo, Yes I have an Ender 3 as well. I used jjniko's file as downloaded, no changes. I am not sure what is causing your issues. It could be
the PLA, bed & nozzle temps or other issues as well.
I use 200 degrees and 60 degrees Celsius for my bed(build plate) and the nozzle temperatures. I will say this: not all brands of PLA perform the same.
I read ABS filament is a bit more difficult print. It requires more heat. I have only used PLA so far and I am pleased with the results.

Ah, no, I was referring to your prints. Take a look at these made with an Ender 3:
Imagen
The left one (block beveled on both sides) was printed with the flat side aligned with one of the horizontal axes of the printer, whereas the other side was not parallel. This one seems similar to yours. Anyway the undulations are more visible with the flash of the camera. ;)

Yes, especially with the big prints from my own experience: http://www.exincastillos.es/foro/viewto ... 00#p268300 The design of the Ender 3, uncovered and difficult to cover, prevents a constant temperature. Also the results lack the gloss of the PLA, maybe it could be fixed with a bit of acetone.

Yes it is a problem trying to cover it. My son-in-law had to totally enclose his printer(cube design so it was easy to cover it) in order to obtain acceptable results with ABS.
With my Ender 3's it too much to try to cover. So I just use PLA.

Yes jasolo I do see what you mean about the somewhat "wavy" sides. It could be the software or I may need to tweak the settings a bit.
If its the software I am out of luck.

Check the belts, they must be tight enough to eliminate free play in the system, but drum-tight belts can transmit motor vibrations to your model.

It is possible to enclose an Ender 3, but you need some space: https://all3dp.com/2/ender-3-enclosure- ... r-buy-one/ Not my case, so for ABS sometimes I use the experimental option "Enable draft shield" in Cura. It creates a one-layer thick wall around the object, protecting it from unwanted air flows. Also I disable the cooling fan. I think ABS works better with organic figures than with geometric ones.

It could be the belts, I will check them tonight. Just for fun I may try the same print on my other Ender 3 to see if the results are different.
